Phil Coley MSc – Sport Scientist.
Phil Coley
Phil trained as a sport scientist and graduated from St Marys, London in 1994. Phil was the first sport scientist to look at the psycho-physiological effects in clay shooting as part of his dissertation. Phil studied heart rate, cognitive feedback coupled with coping strategies and the impact of those. Phil can also be seen coaching those shooting clays or those in the field. Phil is son of Ian Coley, Great Britain Olympic Shooting coach. Phil played rugby and hockey to a high standard, playing hockey to International level.

Phil has worked with many clay shooters in all disciplines and has produced two videos and a series of self-help books. Phil works with clay shooters and other sportspersons on mental aspects of sport performance. Phil is a brand Ambassador for Musto, Eley and Promatic. [read more about Phil]

Carl is one of the leading sporting clay shooters in the World. Carl won the World English Sporting title and is a regular member of the England team. Carl combines competing with coaching and coaches all levels of shooter. Carl combines his vast knowledge with a friendly, approachable coaching style.

Dave Beardsmore - Top Skeet Shot & Top Coach

Dave is widely regarded as one of the top shooting coaches in the world and this is complemented by his extensive coaching accomplisments.

Dave has been shooting for over 25 years and has been part of the England Shooting Team for the last 10 years. He is acknowledged around the world as one of the top Skeet shooting shots and with a World Championship and numerous other titles to his name he has amassed a vast amount of knowledge in all aspects of Clay Target and Game Shooting.

Adam Gutteridge - Top Trap Shot & Coach

Adam is a previous DTL Team Champion and GB Olympic Trap team member. Adam is a regular on the OT scene and is now part of the Top Shot team working with DTL, ABT, UT and OT, but focusing on the up and coming DTL and ABT shooters. Adam brings experience and a relaxed, but very professional approach. New to the team, Adam has made a significant impact with positive comments after all Masterclass days and fantastic feedback from days in England, Scotland and also Ireland in the past few weeks.

Peter Harris - Coach and Shooting Expert

After an industrial career in engineering to the very highest level and the last 20 years as a gunsmith Peter is more than qualified to address gun related issues, also with many years experience shooting very high pheasants and testing birds, Peter has a wealth of knowledge on all things shooting. Peter is usually found instructing in the field with clients, or busily writing technical articles.

Steve Walton - Top Trap Shot & Coach

Steve Walton is a leading Double Trap Shot, having started with DTL, quickly becoming established as a leading Junior and winning European Junior Gold on two occassions.

Steve now shoots on the GB Double Trap Team and won Double Gold in India at the Commonwealth Games 2010.

Kirsti Procter BSc - Research & Analysis

Kirsti Procter

Kirsti is part of the Clay Shooting Success team and develops our inhouse software for analysis of heart rate and research projects. Kirsti is on hand on Masterclass Days running various data through a laptop, providing valuable analysis.

Kirsti is heavily involved in equestrian coaching and research, coupled with a passion for clay shooting. Kirsti recently took up clay shooting and is being taught under the direction of GB Olympic Coach, Ian Coley.

Rob Heagerty PhD – Sports Physiotherapist

Rob is a fully qualified chartered physiotherapist. Rob works with leading sports individuals and teams, and is part of the Great Britain Bobsled Team in Vancouver. Rob also works with leading rugby players, athletes, footballers, and with private clients.

Rob specialises in preventative physiotherapy and acute injuries. Rob is currently leading a study into recoil impacts on muscle tissue and the impact on performance, specifically looking at being able to enhance performance through prevention and through muscle warming.

Jason Gwynne DipPT - Physical Fitness professional

Jason is a leading Fitness Trainer, working with teams and individuals. Jason has a forces background, but combines military fitness regimes and proven sports methods. Jason brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experiences.

Jason is researching recoil impacts on muscle groups in shooting, studying muscle fatique and effects on concentration.
